Eagerly - an adverb poem
Jack is eagerly watching
The postman draw near.
He is eagerly listening
And what does he hear?
A small parcel is quietly
Dropped in the hall.
Oh, but eagerly opening's
The best thing of all!
He's now eagerly pulling
The contents from box:
It is just what he wanted -
Some great football socks.
They'll be warm on the legs
And, with famous brand name,
It's for certain they’ll help
Win that next football game.
