FRIENDS NEVER PART

By Josie Whitehead

Friends Never Part

When life on earth has been and gone
And life for others still goes on;
      Whilst you remember time gone by,
       Stand by my grave, but do not cry.

Those memories, built across the years,
Still live, so do not shed sad tears.
      I’ll never die whilst in your heart
      For best friends never ever part.

And when it’s time for you to go
Don’t be afraid, for you will know
     That I’ll be there to hold your hand
     And take you to that pleasant land.

Note:  I met my good friend, Hazel, on my first day at College, when, aged 15 years, I took the seat next to her.  We were friends forever and there was not a week went by but what we spoke to each other.  She died in 2019, aged 78 years of age.  How I'll miss her, but the memories we both had will live forever and I'm sure we'll meet again in another life after this.  Many people will understand me if they have special friends.  Josie
