GHASTLY GHOSTIES

By Josie Whitehead

Ghastly Ghosties

We hang around graveyards and rattle our chains.

We’re out in all weathers, in both snow and rain.

We haunt ancient castles in the deep dead of night,

And if you ever should meet us we’ll give you a fright.

                    Oooh, Oooh, Oooh . . . . .

It’s not easy to walk through a hard wooden door

And oh boy how we’ve tried them – our legs are quite sore.

Our noses get flattened and our eyes become black,

But once you’re a ghostie, there’s no going back.

                  Oooh, Oooh, Oooh . . . . .

The time we like best is the Halloween ball

And then we can scare you, oh yes, one and all.

If you feel something touch you or a hand that is cold

Why it’s bound to be ghosties trying hard to be bold.

                    Oooh, Oooh, Oooh . . . . . .

So get into your bed now and go fast asleep.

The ghosties won’t wake you – they only will peep

At your face on the pillow and then they must go

For it’s a busy life being a ghostie you know.

                    Oooh, Oooh, Oooh . . . .
