ICE CREAM TEARS

By Josie Whitehead

Ice Cream Tears

There’s ice cream in our freezer
    That’s sitting all alone.
It gently steals into your thoughts.
You’d love one in a cone.

The ice cream’s taken from its home
And the ice cream scoop appears.
It’s in my cone, then – oh – on the floor,
And now there’s ice cream tears.
