IF YOU COULD
ONLY CHANGE ONE THING

By Josie Whitehead

If You Could Only Change One Thing

If you could only change one thing
     Within this world of ours,
What do you think that you might change
If it was in your power?

Why would you want to make this change?
       Write down your reasons why.
Perhaps you’d seek help from your friends –
So ask them!  Go on, try!

Perhaps you’d find they may not share
       Ideas that you may list,
Or, on the other hand, perhaps
They’ll add things that you’ve missed.

There could be much they’d argue with -
It’s not easy to agree -
So why not write down your ideas
And approach them and just see?

DISCUSSION:  What, for example, would benefit everyone in our world?  Oh there are many things, so in your groups, make a list of what you all think is very important in our world.  I would like to change people's attitudes.  It would be nice if everyone showed more love and respect for others who share our world with us - yes and that includes animals, plants, trees etc.   Start by showing your own friendly face.  Give your teacher a smile and 'thank you' when you leave your classroom.  He/she deserves a word of thanks sometimes.   Josie
