We’ve written cards and posted them;
     We’ve bought the Christmas tree;
We’ve written out our Christmas lists
      Of gifts for you and me.

We bought some gifts for all our friends
     And Gran and Granddad too -
And, no, you’re not forgotten at all:
     There’s something nice for you.

​

The tree’s been decorated well.
     Lights twinkle in our room
But now, at only four o’clock,
      Outside there’s winter’s gloom.

​

We’ve made our Christmas pudding
     And the cake looks really great!
Our home’s been decorated
     And now we have to wait.

​

We snuggle down in our warm beds
     And listen for that sleigh,
But the next thing that we realize
     Is that it’s Christmas Day.

​
