Rain Cloud

THE RAIN,
THE SUN AND THE CLOUDS

Rain, the Sun and the Clouds

Sun

‘Good morning,’ said the golden sun.
     ‘Good morning,’ said the rain.
The sun said: ‘Do I shine today
     Or do you rain again?’

‘It’s your turn,’ shouted back the rain.
     ‘Today’s my day of rest.’
‘Well, OK', called the sun again,
‘I’ll try to do my best.’

So look out from your window now.
I hope you’ll see the sun
Because the fluffy clouds tease her
And hide the sun for fun.

‘They’ll creep across her golden face,
And try to hide her smile -
But only whilst she takes her break:
She’ll return in just a while.

Sometimes the clouds cover the sky:
     The reason’s very clear:
It’s ‘time-off’ for the sun that day,
     But she’ll return, don’t fear!

We need the sunshine and the showers
To grow the food we eat –
And without the rain and cooling breeze,
We’d burn up in the heat.

We’d have no food upon our plates,
       And nothing we could drink
And a world of only desert sand
Would not be nice I think.
