We’re glad you’ve shared this life of ours
     But we’re sad to see you go
Because your presence in our world 
     Brought love – I’m sure you know.

We’re glad for hours spent happily
     Across the many years –
But now you’ve gone, oh please excuse 
   The fact we’ve shed some tears.

​

Dear God, take good care of our friend,
     Until we meet again,
And, as the days and weeks go by,
     Please help us through our pain.
